Top Collegiate Stars Also Set to Tee it Up at TPC Twin Cities
BLAINE, MN – Tournament officials today announced that several of the PGA TOUR’s most popular and accomplished players—including Max Homa, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, and Tony Finau—have committed to compete in the 2025 3M Open, taking place July 21–27 at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota.
As it stands today, the 156-player field will feature 30 of the top 80 eligible players in the Official World Golf Ranking and 42 PGA TOUR winners from the past two years.
Headlining the early commitments is defending champion Jhonattan Vegas, who captured his first PGA TOUR title since 2017 with a one-stroke victory at the 2024 3M Open. Vegas will look to become the first back-to-back winner in tournament history.
Also returning is 2022 champion Tony Finau, who has posted three top-10 finishes in four career starts at TPC Twin Cities. Other early commitments include six-time PGA TOUR winner Max Homa, five-time PGA TOUR winner Sam Burns, 2023 U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark, #16 in OWGR Maverick McNealy and fan favorites like Akshay Bhatia and Tom Kim.
The 2025 field will also showcase emerging talent, including 2025 NCAA Individual Champion Michael LaSasso, PGA TOUR University No. 1 David Ford, and No. 2 Brendan Valdes. LaSasso and Valdes have accepted sponsor exemptions.
Minnesota fans can also cheer on local ties including Frankie Capan III (Stillwater, MN), University of Minnesota alum Erik van Rooyen, and Tom Hoge, who grew up in Fargo and played many events in the state throughout his junior career.
“Each year, we strive to elevate the 3M Open experience for our fans, our community, and the players—and 2025 is shaping up to be one of our best fields yet,” said Mike Welch, 3M Open Tournament Director. “Welcoming major champions, rising collegiate stars, and past winners back to TPC Twin Cities creates an incredible atmosphere that celebrates everything great about golf in Minnesota.”
Players have until 4:00 p.m. CT on Friday, July 19 to officially commit to the tournament and may withdraw at any time.
